Become a Festival Intern

At the edge of Australia, at the edge of the world, our lifestyle, our environment, our history provides us with a singularly distinctive outlook on how we celebrate creativity and culture — and embrace the very best that humanity has to offer from anywhere on the planet. Every summer since 1953 Perth Festival bursts into life with music, dance, stories, conversations and laughter. Bright and bold and refreshingly down-to-earth, our Festival is made for locals — but we invite everyone to jump in, and experience art in a different light.

The Festival offers a range of internship opportunities for students to get involved. On placement, students can expect to be involved in meaningful work and also gain valuable learning which will be acquired through workplace experience of the operations.

  • These internships are highly competitive and are available to currently enrolled tertiary level students.
  • Priority is given to students enrolled in relevant courses and in particular to those students for whom an internship is a course requirement.
  • Preference is given to students enrolled in educational institutions in Western Australia.
  • Each application will be assessed on its merits.
  • Successful applicants will be interviewed to further determine their suitability.
  • To be considered for an Internship  Placement this completed form and your two attachments must be emailed to before the closing date listed in the call for applicants

Please note: We don’t currently offer work experience for high school students. If you are aged 18 or under, you might be interested in our Young Creatives program. Young Creatives is a unique development program that provides aspiring arts professionals aged 15 – 18 with opportunities to explore a career in the arts. Young Creatives connect with Perth Festival artists, performers, and practitioners as they participate in an immersive and individualized program of activities. Find out more here.
